San ANTONIO, TEXAS.- The Russian Foreign Ministry remains willing to continue contacts with its US counterparts to move toward a resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, said its spokeswoman, MARIA ZAKHAROVA, commenting on the cancellation of the meeting between VLADIMIR PUTIN and DONALD TRUMP.

The spokesperson reiterated that the objectives declared at the start of the military operation are non-negotiable. These include the demilitarization of Ukraine, denazification, neutral, non-nuclear, and non-aligned status, and the establishment of “reliable” rights and freedoms for the Russian-speaking population in this country. As well as “the free activity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” she said.

“This is the starting point for our dialogue with the US and other countries that wish to contribute constructively to resolving the conflict,” she said. “We need a set of negotiated solutions that eliminate the root causes of the conflict and ensure lasting peace in the context of building an indivisible Eurasian and global security system,” she declared.

ZAKHAROVA pointed out that the Russian side “sees no major obstacles” preventing the continuation of the process promoted by the leaders of both countries to “agree on the political framework for resolving the conflict.” This is a “complex and laborious” task, which “should not be carried out in front of microphones or through leaks” but rather through “diplomatic instruments,” she added.

Wednesday, TRUMP announced that he had canceled the summit with his Russian counterpart that was scheduled to take place in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. “I didn’t think we were going to get where we needed to be,” he argued. However, he expressed confidence that the meeting would take place “in the future.”

Regarding TRUMP’s decisions, former Russian President DMITRI MEDVEDEV pointed out that the U.S. president “has completely aligned himself with crazy Europe” and that this is no longer BIDEN’s “conflict,” but his own.

The cancellation of the Budapest summit by US President DONALD TRUMP and the new sanctions against Russia are nothing less than an “act of war,” said DMITRI MEDVEDEV, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, on Thursday.

Will there be new weapons besides the infamous Tomahawks?” the senior Russian official asked on social media. “If any of the numerous commentators still had any illusions, this is how it is: the US is our adversary, and its loquacious ‘peacemaker’ [TRUMP] has now thrown himself headlong into war against Russia,” he added.
