San ANTONIO, TEXAS.-Several U.S. senators introduced a resolution on war powers on Wednesday. The aim is to prevent that the DONALD TRUMP administration from using the armed forces against VENEZUELA, without congressional approval, reports The Hill.

The resolution orders the president to stop using the military “unless specifically authorized by a declaration of war or a specific authorization for the use of military force.”

U.S. Secretary of War: “We have only just begun to strike drug smuggling boats.” The presentation cited recent statements by TRUMP about beginning “ground attacks” “very soon,” amid bombings against alleged drug smuggling boats in the Caribbean Sea and the eastern Pacific, which have left more than 80 people dead.

The measure was introduced by Democratic Senators TIM KAINE, ADAM SCHIFF, Senate Minority Leader CHUCK SCHUMER, along with Republican RAND PAUL, and may be put to a vote in the Senate within 10 days.
