¿Abandonamos la OTAN?: Cuestiona MELONI

*** ITALIA y FRANCIA Buscan Hablar Con PUTIN

*** No Hay Opciones Para “Reaccionar Con Fuerza”

*** Le Dije a TRUMP Que Hubo un Malentendido

San ANTONIO, TEXAS.- The Italian Prime Minister, GIORGIA MELONI, highlighted in an interview with Bruno Vespa on ‘Porta a porta’ the lack of real options, when asked to “react strongly” in her foreign policy, stating that she is criticised for being “too complacent”.

{La Primera Ministra Italiana, GIORGIA MELONI, destacó en una entrevista con Bruno Vespa en el programa ‘Porta a porta’ la falta de opciones reales cuando se le pide que “reaccione con fuerza” en su política exterior. Afirmando que la critican por ser “demasiado complaciente”.}

When I am told that we must ‘react strongly’. Since we are talking about foreign policy and not an informal conversation, I also need to be explained: what is the proposal?.

{“Cuando me dicen que debemos ‘reaccionar con fuerza’. Ya que hablamos de política exterior y no de una conversación informal, también necesito que me expliquen: ¿cuál es la propuesta?.}

Do we want to break our alliances with our historical allies? Do we want to close US bases in Italy?  Do we want to leave NATO?”,said   clearly, MELONI.

{¿Queremos romper nuestras alianzas con nuestros aliados históricos? ¿Queremos cerrar las bases estadounidenses en Italia? ¿Queremos abandonar la OTAN?”, dijo claramente MELONI.}

In this context, the representative stressed that she is convinced that in international relations “there is a need to reduce tension and seek solutions” and this approach “does not mean that her attitude is submissive”.

{En este contexto, la mandataria subrayó que está convencida de que en relaciones internacionales “hay que rebajar la tensión y buscar soluciones” y este enfoque “no significa que su actitud sea sumisa”.}

“When the issue of tariffs came up. I don’t think anyone in Europe will fight against DONALD TRUMP like me. Simply, I worked to reach an agreement, and others preferred an escalation,” said MELONI.

{“Cuando surgió el asunto de los aranceles. No creo que nadie en Europa luchara contra Donald Trump como yo. Simplemente, yo trabajaba para llegar a un acuerdo, y otros preferían una escalada”, aseveró Meloni.}

“Which, she assures, always acts in favor of the national interests of Italy. I think a division between Europe and the U.S. does not benefit anyone, and certainly not Italy”, she said.

{“Que, asegura, siempre actúa a favor de los intereses nacionales de Italia. “Creo que una división entre Europa y EE.UU. no beneficia a nadie, y ciertamente no beneficia a Italia”, manifestó.}

GIORGIA MELONI.

She also noted that he used the same approach to talk with TRUMP amid disagreements between Washington and Brussels over Greenland. Telling how she managed to resolve the misunderstanding about the deployment of troops from several European countries on the Danish island.

{Además, señaló que usó el mismo enfoque para conversar con TRUMP en medio de las discrepancias entre Washington y Bruselas sobre Groenlandia. Contando cómo logró resolver el malentendido sobre el despliegue de tropas de varios países europeos en la isla danesa.}

“Some European countries decided to send soldiers to Greenland for training operations. This was interpreted by the US administration as an attack on Americans.”

{“Algunos países europeos decidieron enviar soldados a Groenlandia para operaciones de entrenamiento. Esto fue interpretado por la Administración estadounidense como un ataque contra los estadounidenses.”}

Instead, I believe it was an attempt to respond to a need that the Americans themselves had raised. That’s why I called TRUMP and said, ‘Look, I think there’s been a misunderstanding,’ “she recalled.

{Creo, en cambio, que fue un intento de responder a una necesidad que los propios estadounidenses habían planteado. Por eso llamé a Trump y le dije: ‘Mira, creo que ha habido un malentendido'”, recordó.}

MELONI indicated that part of the problems in the relations between the US and Europe is due to a lack of communication, which must be re-established for the benefit of all.

{Meloni indicó que parte de los problemas en las relaciones entre EE.UU. y Europa se debe a una falta de comunicación que debe restablecerse, para beneficios de todos.}

Italy’s foreign minister, ANTONIO TAJANI, has been categorical in stating that his country will never enter into armed conflict with the Russian Federation.

{El ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de Italia, Antonio Tajani, ha sido categórico al afirmar que su país nunca entrará en un conflicto armado con la federación de Rusia.}

“We are not and will never make war on Russia, but peace is not only the absence of war, it is the guarantee that the people can decide freely,” he said in an interview with Il Giornale.

{“No estamos haciendo ni haremos nunca la guerra a Rusia, pero la paz no es solo la ausencia de guerra, es la garantía de que el pueblo pueda decidir libremente”, declaró en una  entrevista para el periódico Il Giornale.}

Regarding support for Ukraine in the conflict with Russia. The Italian chancellor noted that there is broad support for the idea of offering to Kiev security guarantees similar to those in NATO Article 5. There is no need for the country to formally integrate into the “western military” bloc.

{En cuanto al apoyo a Ucrania en el conflicto con Rusia. El canciller italiano señaló que existe un amplio respaldo a la idea de ofrecer a Kiev garantías de seguridad similares a las del artículo 5 de la OTAN. Sin necesidad de que el país se integre formalmente en el bloque militar occidental.}

Earlier, the Italian prime minister, GIORGIA MELONI, had urged Europeans to dialogue with Russia on issues related to Ukraine. He shared the approach of the French president, EMMANUEL MACRON , who also spoke in favor of dialogue with the Russian side.

{Previamente, la primera ministra italiana, GIORGIA MELONI, había instado a los europeos a dialogar con Rusia sobre las cuestiones relacionadas con Ucrania. Indicó compartir el planteamiento del presidente francés, EMMANUEL MACRON, quien también se ha pronunciado a favor del diálogo con la parte rusa.}
