San Diego, CALIFORNIA.-U.S. President DONALD TRUMP commented on his meeting today with Israeli Prime Minister BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, in which they discussed the escalating tensions with Iran.

{El presidente de Estados Unidos, DONALD TRUMP,  comentó  su  reunión de esta jornada con el primer ministro de Israel, BENJAMÍN NETANYAHU, en la que discutieron la escalada de tensiones con Irán.}

“I just finished a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel and several of his representatives. It was a very good meeting, and the extraordinary relationship between our two countries continues,” the president said on his Truth Social account.

{“Acabo de terminar una reunión con el primer ministro NETANYAHU, de Israel, y varios de sus representantes. Fue una muy buena reunión, la extraordinaria relación entre nuestros dos países continúa”, declaró el mandatario en su cuenta de Truth Social.}

“Nothing definitive was agreed upon. Except that I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue, to see whether or not an agreement can be reached,” the US president emphasized.

{“No se llegó a nada definitivo. Salvo que insistí en que continúen las negociaciones con Irán ,para ver: si se puede o no consumar un acuerdo”, subrayó el Presidente Norteamericano.}

In this regard, the US president said that reaching an agreement “would be the preferred option.” However, if this does not happen, he stated: “We will have to wait and see what the outcome is.”

{En este sentido, el mandatario estadounidense aseguró que llegar a un acuerdo “sería la opción preferible”. Sin embargo, para el caso de que no se dé, declaró: “Tendremos que esperar a ver cuál es el resultado”.}

“ Last time, Iran decided it was better not to reach an agreement and was hit by the ‘Midnight Hammer’, which did not turn out well for them. Let’s hope that this time they will be more reasonable and responsible,” he said.

{«La última vez, Irán decidió que era mejor no llegar a un acuerdo y se vio afectado por el «Martillo de medianoche», lo que no les salió bien. Esperemos que esta vez sean más razonables y responsables», afirmó.}

Tensions between the US and Iran escalated in early January. After followed President TRUMP’s threat to proceed with military intervention, initially citing internal protests in Iran as the reason.

Although the demonstrations ceased, Washington kept up the pressure. It redirected its argument toward the Persian country’s nuclear and missile programs, which had already demonstrated their capabilities in the 12-day war with Israel.

{Aunque las manifestaciones cesaron, Washington mantuvo la presión. Redirigiendo su argumentó hacia los programas nucleares y de misiles del país Persa, que ya demostró su capacidad en la Guerra de 12 días, con Israel.}

Last Friday, the first round of indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran on the nuclear issue took place in Muscat, Oman. The consultations were held separately.

After the meeting, TRUMP stated that “Iran seems very interested in reaching an agreement.” For his part, ARAGHCHI also described the atmosphere as “positive” and confirmed the willingness to keep the channel of dialogue open.

However, Tehran has repeatedly stated that it is prepared to respond to any “strategic error” by the US with “heavy blows.” It has also warned that a complete cessation of uranium enrichment is “absolutely unacceptable” for the Persian nation.

{Sin embargo, desde Teherán han asegurado  en repetidas ocasiones estar preparados para responder a cualquier “error estratégico” de EE.UU. con golpes “pesados”. Además, han advertido que un cese completo del enriquecimiento de uranio es “absolutamente  inaceptable” para la nación persa.}

On Tuesday, the US president announced that he is considering sending a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East in order to prepare for military action if negotiations with Iran fail.

{Este martes, el presidente estadounidense anunció que está considerando enviar un segundo portaaviones a Oriente Medio, a fin de prepararse para una acción militar, si las negociaciones con Irán fracasan.}

“We have a Navy heading there and another one could be on its way,” he emphasized, using language that U.S. President DONALD TRUMP, frequently employs.

{«Tenemos una flota naval dirigiéndose allí y otra podría estar en camino», enfatizó, utilizando un lenguaje que el presidente de los Estados Unidos, DONALD TRUMP, emplea con frecuencia.}
