San ANTONIO, TEXAS.- To prepare for the next round of talks in the UAE on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, everything necessary will be done to ensure the continuity of the dialogue, Russian President’s spokesman DMITRI PESKOV said.
{Para preparar la próxima ronda de conversaciones en EAU sobre la solución del conflicto ucraniano, se hará todo lo necesario para garantizar la continuidad del diálogo, declaró el portavoz del presidente de Rusia, DMITRI PESKOV.}
The Kremlin also addressed various questions about the situation surrounding Iran and the possible extension of the New START treaty. “Of course, everything necessary will be done to ensure that the dialogue can continue.”

For now, Moscow has not commented on reports of an alleged truce agreement in the energy sector. When asked if the negotiations could be extended to two days, Peskov replied: “Possibly two days, if necessary, yes.”

He confirmed that the conditions and format of the meeting in Abu Dhabi, with Russia’s participation, will be defined before February 1. According to the presidential spokesman, there are currently no talks about Germany mediating in the negotiation process on Ukraine.

On Iran, PESKOV made an important appeal to all parties to act with restraint and avoid any solution by force, which brings nothing good to anyone.

Regarding New START, PESKOV indicated that Russia will closely monitor developments surrounding the strategic arms reduction treaty, which is nearing expiration.

The presidential spokesperson stressed that replacing New START with a new strategic stability agreement will be a long and difficult process due to numerous factors.

PUTIN recently announced that Russia is willing to continue complying with START restrictions for one year after the agreement expires on February 5, 2026, although he noted that compliance with the treaty will only take effect if the US responds with reciprocal measures.

The United States has reportedly stated that it will only offer security guarantees to Ukraine, if an agreement is first signed that involves renouncing territorial claims, the Financial Times reported, citing eight sources familiar with the course of the negotiations.

However, a few hours later, the White House denied this version and assured that Washington “is not trying to force Kiev to make territorial concessions,” stressing that possible security guarantees from the US depend as much on Ukraine’s position as on Russia’s.
