Mr. HARFUCH who is allegedly implicated in the crime of Iguala, where 43 students from the Raul Isidro Burgos Rural Normal School in Ayotzinapa, in the state of Guerrero, disappeared.
“JOHN”, a collaborating witness, declared in February 2020, that when GARCIA HARFUCH was the PF Coordinator in Guerrero, he received a monthly bribe of 200 thousand dollars, from the criminal group ‘Guerreros Unidos’, a faction linked to the Beltran Leyva Cartel.
This was taken up by the newspaper Reforma, and coincides with what a member of the criminal organization indicated to the journalist in July last year. As well as other indications from the Group of experts sent by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights in 2015 and 2016.
Rulings from Mexican courts, and an Arizona court that has exposed that the Federal Police in Guerrero was linked to drug trafficking and actively participated in the disappearance of the students.
ANABEL continues saying: I have no doubt. I have the documents that prove that GARCIA HARFUCH was aware of everything that happened in Iguala in 2014. He was the head of the Federal Police who attacked and participated in the disappearance of [the 43 students] from Ayotzinapa.
I have the whole file from the first day, he joined the police in 2008. The signatures of the person who welcomes him, and every position from then on: LUIS CARDENAS PALOMINO (GARCIA LUNA’s right-hand man, also imprisoned).
I have his confidence control exams, which he failed. In those exams he lies, when he is asked about his relations with organized crime. In those exams, he says that he does not even have the intellectual capacity to have held a position, in the Federal Police.
They point out that, he had links with organized crime. Even the unit in charge of disciplining the Federal Police asked for his dismissal, he had failed the polygraph exam three times. He stayed because that was CARDENAS PALOMINO’s decision.
For RICARDO RAVELO, a researcher and expert on drug trafficking in Mexico, he says that: despite his black background, GARCIA HARFUCH is the main candidate of the MORENA party, by CLAUDIA SHEINBAUM’s decision, to run for the Mexico City mayor’s office.
His links with GENARO GARCIA LUNA -his mentor- do not seem to bother him at all, neither the fact that he has worked alongside the so-called “narco-police” of FELIPE CALDERON’s government.
In whose period, he favored the interests of the Sinaloa cartel, according to the accusations, he is facing in the United States after being tried for those facts in New York.
In addition, GARCIA HARFUCH’s brother – JAVIER GARCIA MORALES – was executed in Guadalajara in 2011: he had a history of being linked to organized crime, and according to the accusations against him, was linked to money laundering.
GARCIA HARFUCH’s family history is plagued with doubts and suspicions: his grandfather, MARCELINO GARCIA BARRAGAN, was Secretary of Defense during the government of GUSTAVO DIAZ ORDAZ, and mastermind of the operation to perpetrate the 1968 student massacre.
His father, JAVIER GARCIA PANIAGUA, served as head of the Federal Security Directorate (DFS), the sinister police of the PRI regime from whose ranks ’emerged’ several drug trafficking leaders, among others, AMADO CARRILLO FUENTES. He was also linked to the Guadalajara cartel.
Mexico City’s former police chief, OMAR GARCIA HARFUCH, has several dark and no less dubious angles: he has allegedly been linked to some drug cartels, including La Familia Michoacana, and was once linked to MIGUEL ANGEL TREVIÑO MORALES, the Z-40, then head of Los Zetas, who was captured in 2013 on the borders of Nuevo Leon and Coahuila.
Despite his alleged criminal ties and his close links with GENARO GARCIA LUNA, his mentor, who was convicted in New York for serving the interests of the Sinaloa cartel, when he served as Secretary of Public Security during the government of FELIPE CALDERON, GARCIA HARFUCH has already been unveiled, and will be MORENA’s next candidate for Mexico City’s chief of government.
RAVELO concludes his comments: This was CLAUDIA SCHEINBAUM’s decision after being declared the winner of the national poll to be the presidential candidate. All this happens with the dissatisfaction of President ANDRES MANUEL LOPEZ OBRADOR.
What does SHEINBAUM intend by wanting to impose to HARFUCH, as Head of Government of CDMX, for that the drug traffickers taking over the City?. A sector of the population wonder, who sees a real threat to organized crime. And add another question.
In the case of being defeated at the MORENA poll, HARFUCH. MARIO DELGADO, a deceitful national leader, will comply with SHEINBAUM’s instructions to make a candidate for Senator to HARFUCH. So that, he has political protection in case he is put on trial?.
