San Antonio, TEXAS.-The Venezuelan National Assembly (unicameral parliament) rejected the U.S. announcement of a $50 million reward for information leading to the arrest of President NICOLAS MADURO.
{La Asamblea Nacional de Venezuela (parlamento unicameral) rechazó el anuncio de Estados Unidos de una recompensa de 50 millones de dólares por información que condujera al arresto del presidente Nicolás Maduro.}
“We reject the absurd and desperate actions announced by the U.S. Attorney General’s Office, which are clearly illegal and have no real basis beyond the delusional attempt to attack President Nicolás Maduro Moros,” said the statement from the president of the parliament, JORGE RODRIGUEZ.

Likewise, the legislative body denounced that this action demonstrates new attempts by the U.S. to repeat “old formulas of gross interference and useless threats” to destabilize peace, tranquility, and the consolidation of the Caribbean nation.
{Asimismo, el organismo legislativo denunció que esta acción evidencia los nuevos intentos de EE.UU. Por repetir “viejas fórmulas de injerencia grosera y amenazas inútiles” para desestabilizar la paz, tranquilidad y la consolidación de la nación caribeña.}
“These operations seek no other purpose than to once again encourage extremist groups, in the country and the region. To resume the violence that has been defeated across the board, by our government and people,” the text emphasizes.

U.S. Attorney General PAM BONDI recently announced an increase of up to $50 million in the reward for information leading to the arrest of Maduro, whom she accused of using criminal organizations to bring lethal drugs and violence into the United States.
{La fiscal general de EE.UU., Pam Bondi, anunció en días pasados un aumento de hasta 50 millones de dólares para la recompensa por información que conduzca al arresto de Maduro, a quien acusó de usar organizaciones criminales para introducir drogas letales y violencia en la nación norteamericana.}
The US government had previously offered a reward of $25 million for the president’s arrest. In this regard, parliament expressed its support for the president and considered that the country remains economically stable.

“Venezuela is currently the safest country on the continent and the one with the fastest-growing economy. Perhaps what these heralds of the outdated empire cannot forgive is our unwavering defense of sovereignty, independence, and peace for all,” the statement said.

The increase in the reward comes after Washington and Caracas recently reached a prisoner exchange agreement, whereby 252 Venezuelan migrants detained in a prison in El Salvador and 10 Americans arrested in the South American nation were released.

Cuban Foreign Minister BRUNO RODRIGUEZ, questioned the “legal and moral authority” of the US government to offer a reward leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President NICOLAS MADURO, an initiative he described as “fraudulent.”

“We condemn the fraudulent reward announced by the US government against the legitimate president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, which constitutes a new act of aggression against that sister nation. The US government lacks the legal and moral authority to take such a measure,” RODRIGUEZ wrote on social media platform X.

On Friday, the Venezuelan government thanked Cuba, Nicaragua, and Iran for expressing their solidarity with President NICOLAS MADURO, after the US offered a $50 million reward for information leading to the arrest of the Chavista leader.
{El Gobierno de Venezuela agradeció este viernes a Cuba, Nicaragua e Irán, por manifestar su solidaridad al presidente, Nicolás Maduro, luego de que EE.UU. ofreciera una recompensa de 50 millones de dólares, a cambio de información que conduzca al arresto del líder chavista.}
The statement by Cuban President MIGUEL DIAZ-CANEL, who said on the same social network that the US government “presents itself as a ‘global judge’ to justify its illegal and unilateral measures against Venezuela and its legitimate president NICOLAS MADURO.”
{El pronunciamiento del mandatario cubano, Miguel Díaz-Canel, quien dijo en la misma red social que el Gobierno de Estados Unidos se “presenta como ‘juez global’ para justificar sus ilegales y unilaterales medidas contra Venezuela y su legítimo presidente Nicolás Maduro”.}
Another “message of solidarity” was sent by the spouses and co-presidents of Nicaragua, DANIEL ORTEGA and ROSARIO MURILLO. They backed MADURO and stated in a communiqué: “No empire will bend us, because we will not sell out, nor will we surrender. Never!”

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the “offensive action by the US” against MADURO constitutes a “clear manifestation of the growing addiction of US policymakers to aggressive unilateralism and coercive methods to advance illegitimate foreign policy objectives,” a message that the Venezuelan government welcomed.

Meanwhile, the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) issued a statement rejecting the accusations made by US Attorney General Pam Bondi, who announced the reward and accused Maduro of using “foreign terrorist organizations such as Sinaloa and the Cartel of the Suns to bring lethal drugs and violence” into the U.S.

ALBA considered BONDI’s statement to be “a tired ploy” and a “mythomaniac attack” with the ‘purpose’ of “feeding a false and erratic narrative” about Venezuela.
